My massages are Swedish-based, using pure jojoba oil, with influences from other modalities blended in, such as deep tissue, myofascial, trigger point, and orthopedic massage. I may also incorporate long, soothing strokes inspired by Esalen and Lomi Lomi. The typical pressure used in my massages is medium, but I can adjust to your comfort level.
I customize each massage to what you and your body need today. Every day, your body is a little different, and I meet your body where it is when you arrive for our session. I do not charge extra for additional services or tools used during our sessions. For instance, if I think massage cupping will help in a certain area, and you are agreeable, I will use those tools and evaluate their effectiveness. I want to provide you with all the available tools and techniques at my disposal, without upselling. Your session is all the minutes of hands-on massage you have purchased. Undressing and dressing time isn’t included. Please do leave time for a intake before and discussion after your massage.
Massage is more than a luxury. Regular bodywork can support your physical and emotional health in many ways.
Massage helps calm the nervous system and can ease feelings of stress and anxiety. Many people notice they feel lighter and more relaxed, both during and after a session.
Massage can help reduce muscle tension and soreness, and it’s commonly used to ease everyday aches in the neck, shoulders, and back. Techniques like trigger point and myofascial work target specific areas of tightness.
By promoting relaxation and easing physical discomfort, massage can help you fall asleep more easily and sleep more deeply.
In a busy life, an hour to slow down and be cared for is valuable in itself. Massage is an excellent form of self-care and a chance to reconnect with how your body feels.
Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care. If you have a health condition or concern, please check with your healthcare provider.
If you are new to massage, I will help guide you through the process so you know what to expect from me, and what I expect from you. I will work with you to provide you with a massage that is well within the limits of what you find comfortable and safe.
Two-way communication is paramount to making any massage session successful. I am able to provide my best work when you are giving me feedback on your comfort and what you want. Providing feedback to a massage therapist helps us deliver our best for you. I do my best work when I know what you need, so please tell me if you’d like more or less pressure, or if anything feels uncomfortable.
